The Truth About Forsyth County, Georgia, And Lake Lanier

This site is dedicated to presenting responsible views of Forsyth County, Georgia, and Lake Lanier.

I am a former Forsyth County Commissioner and have an intense interest in how Forsyth County manages its rapid growth to produce a future desirable "quality of life".

I am a past Vice President and President of the Lake Lanier Association.  I have been working for the preservation of Lake Lanier for seventeen years.   I served on the Governor's Advisory Council for Tri-State Water Issues.  I was a member of the Lake Sidney Lanier Watershed Governance Council and the Lake Lanier Basin Advisory Council for the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District.

The following was in a March 19, 2003 Forsyth Herald article by James Budd, Editor, as he moved on to greener pastures.

"One thing about Forsyth County, voters change commissioners about like most people change clothes.  The entire board has come and gone in five years.

I've seen three chairpersons come and go, including Ron Seder, whom I knew as chairman before the Forsyth Herald started.  Time will tell how the fourth chairman, Jack Conway and the new board, resonate with voters next go around.

By the way, Ron Seder was probably a bit too intelligent, honest and straightforward to prevail in the Forsyth County political cauldron.  Everybody always talks about crooked, lying politicians, but when they get an honest one [like Ron] they don't know how to handle it."
